awww I have't had any "experts" tell me that yet - though I have the cut out valenance and missing filter stand...along with flame marks in the engine bay/interior to prove that they also are likely to catch fire if you just "drop in a porsche engine"

I had it a few weeks back for the first time, I was telling a fellow car enthusiast about my new engine and he asked why i hadnt gone Porsche as they fit right in lol

Well I helped Haveacamper fit his and once we'd hacked up all the metalwork and frigged around with it loads to get the oil tank fitted it did just fit straight in!!!

Then we messed with the electrics....

Then he rebuilt the gearbox to Make it usable....

Then he modified the fuel tank for the correct inlets/outlets and then the firewall to make the cold start valve fit....

And it still didn't work!! Pmsl
But hopefully several years later he's going to arrive in France tomorrow & have a great holiday in it 8)

I have customer who tells me every dam week that I should "just whack a porsche engine in" and "have you bolted that porsche engine in yet".
He does my head in.

They say that a porka lump FITS straight in, there is never any mention on weather it will work straight away :lol:
