Its gotten to the point in my restoration where i have now started looking for faults so i have decided its time for an MOT.
This will either surprise me and everything i've done will get a result OR it will re-focus me on what needs doing to get the result.
So tomorrow at 1630 the bay goes for its 1st MOT in 15 years :shock:
The only thing i think will cause problems are the brakes as i think the Master Cylinder wants changing (bled the brakes 3 times but still spongy pedal unless pumped, but once pressure released brakes spongy again), and maybe the exhaust

Had to Postpone MOT :(
Drive the bay up and down the road just on a little test and despite all the work carried out on the brakes (new hoses, caliper conversion, rear wheel cylinder) they were shocking. Wouldn't stop the bay in a million miles, so really need to change the master cylinder before attempting MOT. Luckily managed to get another MOT spot for Tuesday morning at 1030 (the joys of shift work :lol: )
So this weekend its a case of getting a master cylinder and sorting the brakes once and for all.
 
At last some good (?) news.
A mate came over to have a look with me at the brakes before splashing the cash on a new master cylinder.
Turns out in the JK conversion kit they had sent 2 calipers the same which means that 1 was fitted upside down trapping a load of air in the system, took the caliper off turned it round, re-bled the system, refitted it and now i have brakes.
MOT now Tuesday morning
 
As the interior is only fitted for show (its in but not secure) i'm thinking about removing it all and sending the bay as a empty shell, would this have any bearing on the test?
Might leave the 3/4 bench seat and side cabinet as there rammed in (not secured to floor but tight up against one another and dont move) and this means that the lap seatbelts are dangling on the floor
 
Hi don't know if this is 100% accurate but I think if you have seat belts fitted then the tester will check them and I would also think that the seat would need to be securely mounted so it may be worth whipping them out just in case :wink: fingers crossed.

Although the seat isn't mounted to the floor with the side cabinet in place there is noway the seat is going to move anywhere.
Think i'll leave just teh rear seat in place and remove the rest of the interior

Took it for the MOT today and..........

According to the Computer at the test station my van doesn't exist, they put the Reg and the VIN No. in and it didn't reckonise the van, i hadn't got the log book with me as i didn't think i'd need it but without the Vin being reckonised they could start the test.
Ran home and checked the log book against the van and on the log book its says 2112****9x5 but it doesn't have the 'X' on the actual vin plate.
Flew back down to the MOT station to prove it was my van, in my name, and they confirmed that everything was OK they would just need me to take the logbook with me next time (luckily enough Tomorrow - Wednesday at 1030) and they will be able to carry it out using the logbook vin number.
Anyone else had anything like this happen?
Beginning to think that the old girl doesn't want to go back on the road
