Holds the oe jack in place behind the seat.

My jack is under the passenger seat held by a clamp, the rubber strap is behind the drivers seat on mine. Maybe the strap is for the tool kit perhaps.
Good point, I’d not considered that it was for the tool
Kit.

My jack is also held under the passenger seat on a 70 year. Has anyone seen a toolkit? It’s a handy spot that’s where I keep a multi screwdriver and rag as well

Just found it on the Samba https://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=664412.
Looks like it was kept next to the jack…
Darn think I had it with my bus but chucked it as useless tools having my own…

Still got my tool kit and that’s where I keep mine. You can buy new ‘old style’ tool kits from the usual suppliers.

I have a box like the second picture for a safety triangle that I kept from my old Fastback. I need the strap even more now.

Can someone show me how the jack is held down as I have a metal bracket but no clamp?
