Just bought this Splitty

After half a dozen or so emails back and forth between the owner we had made a deal and transfered the funds into his western union bank account. Only problem in the bus is in storage in Scotland and he is working off shore so I will have to wait 3 weeks till he gets back home to pick it up. :lol: What do you think? Looks pretty good for the price? It almost seems to good to be true. :lol:

To be honest - they probably catch a few people out.
But it has to be greed that would motivates people to even consider buying a massively underpriced bus!

Some people are there own worst enemy - these scammers are good at exploiting peoples weak morals.

They also sell under priced Caterhams and other notable Marques and rock bottom prices. Ebay will not do anything about them apart from dropping the adds and the police are not interested. Only thing to do is to waste the guys time and keep him tied .

The bank accounts change regularly, so if you play the game you might be able to contact the bank involved to get the account flagged as possibly criminal...

The web site suggests the 'company' is in Reading but the phone number points to Ohio in the States (I googled it). Oh, and the company number is false too, it relates to a dissolved company in Yorkshire.

Our friends in the SSVC have already clocked this seller and are doing what Jonboylaw is doing, giving him the run around. Loving the email addresses used by Jon, BTW. :lol:

Scumbag is too nice a word for this sort sort of scammer. :evil:

A long thread but worth a read - in summary this was a members old T4 van listed on ebay that was blatantly a scam, loads of people called/mailed/live-chat with ebay saying the van was a con but ebay didn't want to know.....wouldn't you be gutted if you fell for a scam that 200 people were shouting to ebay about, but they did nothing? :|

What they ended up doing was creating new ebay accounts and bidding the van up to around £200k hilarious but also a good way to disrupt scammers, especially as ebay don't seem to want to take any action!

Are there any risks in creating bogus accounts and bidding up in this way? If not, then...

What if we, as one, had a collective ebay account that we used to drive these people nuts with. Hundreds of emails and bids all from the same ID.
