Well here it is dudes

I've washed it, pumped up the tyres and had some G3 on the blemishes and it looks mint

I'll get the buffer on it withe some G3 over christmas, then some new decals.

I'm well chuffed :D

Oooh a tange frame and forks

Just need to get rid of the stunt nuts and change the bars for v-bars.

Likey likey - so much nicer than the modern stuff....... 8)

Are the bars the og for that later burner? v-bars were on earlier ones right?

It's not a later burner, it's one of the earliest, 1983 to be exact :)

Not too sure what the bars are, I think they may be off an Aero pro burner but i'm still waiting to find out. Cromo burners had chromoly v-bars, unlike the mild steel ones on standard burners.

The cromo burner is a very rare beast, having a Tange frame, also it was never advertised or promoted in any brochures. A friend of mine had one when we kids and I loved it, even over the Aero pro burner that another friend had.

I still cant believe I finally have one

Bought my boy a mag burner, much to his dismay(wanted a Mongoose) and I tried bloody hard to get hold of it.... but since then he's the envy of all the kids in the close.I also said to him can I have first dibs when he's finished with it,he said ok,beens I wash it for him all the time(and test ride it after it's washed!!!!!!)

Think them handle bars were called CW's and are from back in the day. Very popular round my way. Used to be able to get them from halfords
Also got an 83 Burner 8)

Your right about the CW's ballbag. Ive got them on my night burner i had for xmas in 83. Its still in my shed and is on the list for a full restore. It was always my favourite and still is, probably why i went for a red Bus as well with dark grey wheels :)

I remember my dad not being too chuffed when i went at it with a can of nitromors about 3 months after xmas and took all the black lacquer of the frame. The place where im gunna get my lammy powder coated in Nottingham apparently has the black lacquer to redo the original night burner colours

Its got all the trick bits of the day, but they are all a bit worn. Comp III's, Araya 7c rims, Dia Compe self centreing (extra screw) calipers with Tech 2 levers on the CW bars, Mushroom grips, beartrap pedals (and still got the scars in my shins to match) polished suntour stem ( well it was polised last ime i rode it properly in about 91.

Just to throw it in the mix as not to up on ther rarer chromo burner, but didnt all Mk1' s have the gusset with the two holes in between top and down tube.

Nice bike though and good to see original burners still doing the rounds :)

I bought this at Bug Jam last year...

I had the same when I was a kid :)
It's an ideal show bike as it fits in the back f the bus!

Cool, get it restored dude, it sounds ace :D

The MK1 cromo was a Tange frame, the very same frame as a Kuwahara nova. Not really a MK1 burner but still a burner none the less. MMMMM Rare....
