Hi has anybody completed this trip recently in a vee dub? I was at lands end today (live nearby) and had a mad cap idea to do the Lejog run. Got me thinking about non motorway routes, decent camp sites, time to complete, cost of petrol...and probability of getting there and back without an AA call out!

So what do you reckon? All info appreciated,

Thanks Jon

It's only a thousand miles or so. If your bus is in decent nick it should manage that ok. I did near as dammit 2 thousand miles in a type 3 the year before last in a week. And probably about a thousand in the bus last year in a week. You could do it in a long weekend I reckon.

I might have something you can use. I have put together a UK map with a good selection of VW specialists marked on it. It has location, tel no etc. Good to carry in your glove box for those inevitable times and maybe better than getting towed all the way home half way through a trip!
PM me with your e mail address and i'll try attaching it.

Did this run a few years ago on a c50 in 5 days, so in a bay a doddle !
The only advice I would give is do it the other way as a JOGLE , you are going to be worn out at the end, and at least that way you will be home. I know the drive up will be long but you will not mind it , to do the return when you finish, a long way.

We followed one of the cycle routes and was pretty laid back, if it was 2014 might tag along in the bay
