68 Bay - are the lock barrels in the front door handles handed, or the same left/right (I'm guessing they must be the same!)
My drivers side is getting very stiff and often doesn't work without fear of snapping the key - the passengers side is fine, so thinking of swapping them over...

Lubrication is a wonderful thing. Try some WD40 or ideally 3-in-1 spray oil. It makes a world of difference. When was the last time you lubed you door locks, hinges etc? They are all part of the routine servicing schedule.

Totally agree - I lube up regularly.....
I think it is a wear issue in the drivers lock - the key 'sometimes' catches what it needs to catch, and sometimes doesn't, if that makes sense!

Taker the door handle off and does the lock barrel work ok then? We had this on our '68 and the door lock mechanism was stuck up with 40 year old grease and dirt. Overnight soak in diesel and a good brush out, re-greased and oil as necessary been working fine ever since.

quite often you'll find that one of the brass levers is snapped also the springs tend to break and jam up the barrel......

just be careful as there are 9 spaces for the levers and in the handles and only 8 levers, plus for each lever you have 3 options... best to leave the key in place when pulling the barrel....
