Long or short plugs

I have just got a new 1776 from Steve Strong. He is on holiday, so how do I find out if my heads need long or short reach spark plugs?

How deep is the thread in the plug hole?

Get a small bit of small wire with a bend at one end , and count the threads as you either push or pull the wire out of the spark plug hole , then count the threads on which ever plugs you have , just done this myself as wasn't convinced I had the right plugs in the heads , turned out I have the short plugs which were roughly 7-8 threads . There is quite a difference between short and long plugs . Hope that makes sense
