time is approaching to have Doris stripped and restored soon, bit of welding, re spray. I want to know restorers within resonable traveling distance from me (Crewe, Chehsire)....
give me the good, bad and the ugly guys, looking for good workmanship primarily. I recommend you post on the thread any you can personally recommend, and any you think are to be approached with caution, please PM me!! ( I can assure you I'm afiliated with no one so what you tell me will stay a PM and go no further - I just don't any poor workmanship )
Please help guys, even if its just a list of people in the area I can get quotes from. I've heard of.... Talke motors in Stoke on Trent,Toms V dubs in Runcorn,a place in Southport Merseyside, and a place called ' Border restorations' in Shropshire...anyone any info on anyone who has had BODYWORK work done by any of these??
Please discuss................ta - Rob :)

Rob - Creative Coachworks in Lyneal Wood (near ellesmere). The guys name is Alan Sutton and I rang him myself 18 months or so ago enquiring about a quote. He came round to see me at home one Saturday morning and spent an hour and a half looking at the van and some bits of work I had started on and basically he talked me into doing as much welding myself as possible and to give him a ring when I was nearing paint stage. A top bloke, cant obviously comment on his workmanship as he hasnt done any for me as yet but really, really helpful bloke. (time served proper coachbuilder as well).

I'll let you know my experiences of some of the other "quotes" I sought when I see you at Dubfreeze.

Cheers

Andy

Thanks guys - I've heard good things about ' Manchester aircooled ' - quite a close name to be confused with, but I get your drift!

What sort of hourly rates do these places charge?

Are there different rates for different types of work i.e. welding, bodywork, painting, spannering etc?
