Its time to sell my MK2 Golf 16V GTI.
1989 G Reg.
3-door
Atlas Grey.
170,000 miles
MOT til end of Jan 2012
Tax till end of Dec 2011.
Lowered on Koni's. These could do with replacing, so included in sale is a brand new set of JOM adjustable coilovers.
Single light grill conversion with badge.
Full stainless steel Magnex catback exhaust system.
Working MFA.
Power steering (belt could do with tightening).
New alternator fitted.
New battery fitted.
New radiator fitted.
Laser tracked.
All tyres have plenty of tread.
G60 steels in fair condition.
Gearbox rebuilt in Jan of this year. No 2nd gear crunch like many MK2's.
This car does need a little work, bit nothing that would keep it off the road:
Koni's need replacing with new coilovers (which are included in sale)
Rear axle bushes need replacing.
Power steering belt needs tightening.
Drivers electric window doesn't work.
Sunroof leaks a little.
Headlining in rear is starting to drop.
Heater matrix doesn't blow very warm.
Drivers seat has the usual bolster wear.
Bodywork is in fair condition, there is a dent on the drivers side just behind the drivers door.
Takes 3-4 minutes to warm up properly in the morning, then its all good after that.
Rear wiper is not connected. Wiper motor included in sale.
Dash lights not working (all switches light up, just the dials that dont). Probably just the bulb that needs replacing.
£700 takes it away now, or will be more with the coilovers and rear axle bushes fitted. Viewing in Shoreham-by-Sea, West Sussex (near Brighton).
This Golf is really good fun to drive, still really quick and handles like a go kart! Its been my daily driver since January. Only selling because we have seen another car we want.
