Righ then, ive just baught myself a set of 4.5 x 15 splitty wheels for my Bus as i like the look of OG wheels but wanted more profiled tyres. Anyone rolling on this size wheel? What tyre sizes are you using?
And of course, Pix please

Rich

Just done the same,got 4.5 splitty rims & put on some 195/60 X 15`s i already had,
t.b.h, i don`t think they want to be any wider than that on quite narrow rims.......
Interested in what others are running also,i haven`t fitted them to the bus yet as it won`t be used now till next year. :(

Also can`t decide on Chrome,Grey or body colour hubcaps now, gonna try all 3 :?
Is your bus lowered or standard height :?:

Lowerd about 3inches at the front on adjusters and a spline at the rear. Well pleased with the look exept the wheel and tyre size. Will keep my original set also for long trips and towing my caravan. Although the set i just baught and the originals need sending off for paint (when shotblasted) at some point to get them colour coded. I can see my Bus sat on axle stands for a little while next year already  .

Here I am

Here are the front tyres , 165 / 50 / 15

And just see the rears 185 / 65 / 15

Hope this helps Rich :D

Cheers for the pix, looking good 8)
Grazy, do your tyres fit well widthwise or would you go slightly wider next time? <<Fronts
Whats the score with load ratings etc?
Rich

Blimey!!! Whats the ride like?
My next question is......Are you Mr. Whitewalls?

on 5.5j rims 175/55/15 up front and 195/65/15 at rear

I had a spare 175/55/15 tyre that i mounted to a 15 inch 4.5j split rim and it looked a bit bulbous but any gain in diameter helps with comfort with a 4.5j if you want a better look go for a 165/50/15 like grazy has!

but with those 6j erco's on the rear of my van i get a better offset and can run a 205/70/15 which is an awesome motorway cruising tyre if you can fit it in!

Ive come up with...

Front: 165/55/15

Rear: 175/60/15

How does that sound to you?

Cheers Rich 8)

I think you'll find the rolling radius too small with that size on the rear and this will affect your speed too much, the minimum size most people go to on the rear is !85/65/15 which is still smaller than the 'standard 14" setup' but more than usable.

Unless you go to Slam tyres on the front most lowered buses run 185/65/15 on the rear and 175/55/15 on the front and thats the set up we recommend to most of our customers and what we run on our own buses,

I Totally agree with Graham on the rears you will want a minimum of a 185/65 Profile you can get load rated 175/70/15 and 185/65's too but they are crap van tyres that have very lil grip, i've run load rated tyres (always tend to be commercial style) and they just don't have the grip car tyres do. I Run SUV/ 4x4 Tyres they are more than man enough to the job! (Bridgestone Dueler's, or Michelin Sports dependent on size)

On the Front with a 175/55/15 the tyre will balloon above the rim you'll get a better looking combo by going for a 165 instead ;)

I use the same rears as Grazy, but have gone for a slightly wider higher profile front - 175/55/15.

Glad you like the van dude , As Faux says tyres are not load rated , Bus barn put these tyres on and T2D put out their projects on a similar tyre , i think :?

145 65 15 on the front and 185 65 15 on the rear!!! both on 4.5 x 15s......
and the fronts are flooking small!!!!
