Hi red9 on the front no bump stops yet no problems in the 2 yrs they have been on and the ride is smooth,just wanted to know which way to lower and is there a special tool to use,any tips most welcome.

A C-spanner ( http://www.red9design.com/type2.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;, bottom of page) is best but you can do it like this, it's easier off the bus -

Move the two collars down on the damper and tighten up.
 
yup there's two so you can lock them together to stop it self lowering over time.

-With the van in the air, (axle stands)
-Clean your threads up
-Hold top one in position and undo the other
-Wind the bottom one down to desired drop
-Wind top on down too, and then twist/lock together
-Other side, job done

The adjustable dampening is a small knob that you fit a flat blade screw drive in to, its located at the bottom of the shocker just above the lower shock bushes. see below

With the damping adjustment fully clockwise is the softest setting.
