M plate decoding - can't work it out.

I've looked at the faq's, gone on the m-plate sites but i cannot work out what goes where? I played about and think mine may have been born on 16th June 1972 but that's about it. Can anyone help, or just tell me what numbers i need to out in where. Finally, how do i get one of those cool mplate things as the bottom of my posts???

Thats not the M plate thats your id or vin plate

Aha. Found it, and i also found out you can lift the seat off and the jack is underneath too, lol.

Now go to http://www.vw-mplate.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; chose the Bay 1970-1979 enter the details as on your m-plate, decode and in the results it gives 2 images with links that you can copy and paste ino you signature easy peasy

Yay, done it. It's not the original colour anymore, but it's a gemini and born 3 days before my birthday and is 5 years younger!!!

I can't find my m-plate - there is a weld where I think the the m-plate should be.

By the way ... is this a bad thing that I can't find my M-plate?
