Are there any seals between the them on a servo system , got mine from Heritage , and they dont know. In their Cat they show them for the non servo system , but not the servoed . :?

Crisby,

See Bentley, Chapter 8 "Brakes and Wheels." Page 11, fig. 4-10. This is a nice picture of the set-up, showing the "O-ring" that fits between the servo unit and the master cylinder. It should be replaced anytime the master cylinder or servo is removed.

Yeh , thanks Ive got that seal , but still havnt found out if theres any seals between m.cylinder / res. Want to be prepared as mines a daily driver . :)

There should be seals there between the reservoir and the master cylinder.Fit the seals into the master first, then put a little brake fluid as lubricant on the seals and push the reservoir home.
If you look at where the reservoir sits on to the master you should be able to see them.

What is it that you are fixing/replacing?

Hi , Im fitting a new M. cylinder and a new servo. In the Heritage Cat, p 34 the M.cylinder is shown without the rubber seals as apposed to the non sevo one . I think Ill have to wait till Ive stripped out the old ones to see whats there. :?

OH!! Those seals!! They are the grommets you press into the master cylinder. Be extremely careful with your fluid resevoir if it still original. They become brittle over the years and can easliy crack. There is also a seal inside the hose that come from the fluid resevoir behind your seat that meets with the port on the M/C resevior. This is a '71, right?
