Congratulations - you have found another 68 only part! Have a look on thesamba, there are normally one or two for sale there.

GSF list two drum brake master cylinders for early bays. My '68 had got the later one fitted by a previous owner, there is no reason at all why you cannot fit the later one, at £128 + VAT I would recommend the later one. A lot of this only the one year item will fit is a load of rubbish, I have been told that so many times on my '68 it is untrue.

Where exactly is yours weeping from? Is it from the brake light switches? If so you can just replace the switch at a minimal expense.

i think its from the main res on top of it.. got to have a good look to be honist.. i only had a brand new one fitted a year ago.. that was from gsf! ..the 129+vat option.. in my eyes rip off.. if u say the later one 45+vat fits might just go for that?

Trouble is they don't sell an awful lot of '68 only master cylinders, so the price will be high. The only difference, AFAIK, is the '68 only one has a third switch to operate the the one year only brake warning light on the dashboard. If you have a leaky master cylinder reservoir then simply replace, if you can find one, or it might be the rubber pipe from the upper reservoir behind the dash.
