Mayday call anyone help in France Caen anyone 11th August !!

Just putting or our there, we've been recovered to a garage. Currently need a new pulley wheel for a 71Bay Sunday 11th August . Local knowledge of parts availability or alternatively rapid shipping of a quality pulley appreciated!

I know heritage can ship but I need to fix ASAP and continue with our holiday.

Don't ask me why I haven't got a spare!!

there's a couple of members off the late bay in france but it's a big place - i'll see if they know anything though, also it's august you put july. where in france are you and what pulley wheel? alternator/dynamo or crank?

Currently very near Caen. At least we made it to France. Van is in near Axe Caen - Falaise

Thanks all. At present were seeing if we can be recovered to our final destination where we can have parts delivered and I can fix the pulley. Fingers crossed was near there last year and noted a local garage with a VW beetle, hoping this pans out, adding to the adventure anyway!

Sounds like your best option. Its a big country - your closer to the UK midlands than you are to here. Parts supply in France is much the same as in the UK so you should be able to get the part sent to you within 48 hours or so.

Thanks all sourced a repro pulley from mecatechnic - Gael very helpful and hoping parts (new pulley) will arrive tomorrow. I then go to the garage to fit the parts myself and continue the journey.

Hoping nothing else is shagged, inspected the alt this morning some scouring on the face but the woodruff key was there all looked ok. Any top tips on other things to look out for whilst doing this then please chip in!!

Can't get an original pulley so buying two of these which are said to be fine, fingers are crossed ere...
