I had the fortune (?) of being down the In-laws this easter, and got a call off the brother in law saying that he has cleaned ot the shed and found some more stuff he thinks was out of the camper, so off i go this morning in the snow to his house.
When i get there he has found a table with half a bracket the other half is already fitted inside the camper :D and some small wooden peices that i think make up some of the interior, anyway he then produces a small seat with a couple of mounting points on the bottom and 4 nuts and bolts and says its the middle seat that fits over the walk through and mounts between the 2 front seats. 8) The only thing is its black and my seats are beige
When i got back from the in-laws today i had a look and hes right, has anyone else ever seen these as its the 1st time i heard of one let alone seen one!
Will try and fit it tomorrow and get some pictures

Like my one mate http://forum.earlybay.com/viewtopic.php?t=660&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0

Not quite the same as mine is a complete seat, with a solid frame, then on the bottom of the frame are 4 little lugs that just bolt under the original seats, will have to get photos as it will be easier to see what i mean

Sounds interesting, I cant say I have seen one like that. It would be interesting to see some pics.

What do you do about seat belts though? I wouldn't like to be sitting in the middle seat with no belt, making a high speed exit through the screen just doesent appeal much.

Looks practical, but more like a home-brew than the VW type accessory.

Bluebird customs sell a repro of the VW version:

To be honest it was a ball ache to fit and it will be a sod to get the seat belts to fit around it, might just sling it, just thought that if it was any good then it would be a third seat in the front allowing the wife and the daughter to ride up front, will now have to look at getting a back for the buddy seat or some seat belts for the rear bench seat meaning the wife sits in the back with lap belts and the daughter upfront with a 3 point belt holding her car seat in place

The brother in law also found a lap belt and there are mounting points already on the walk through bulk heads, just up a bit from the front seat belt mounts

Have you not thought of fitting a 3 point either static or retracting using the bulkhead as a mounting for the shoulder (car seat ) strap...

still looks decent the cover almost matches my front seats....

Not really sure of what you mean on this one.
Where would i mount the shoulder locating thing-a-majig?
The lower mount and the other clip wouldn't be a problem its just the shoulder one.
Might have a look at the Bluebird kit as i showed the seat to the wife and she thought it looked a good idea.
Does anyone have a Bluebird seat fitted or has anyone got a bech seat fitted? I know this means losing the walk through but if its safer for the daughter then so be it
