Hi,
I have a Mountney steering wheel boss (MB203) that I am trying to fit to a 1971 Westy (Lhd, US Import).
I'm a bit put off because the boss is not a very tight fit over the splines, such that there is a good deal of play between the splines and the boss at the top end.
For info, the boss is not being held off by the outer column tube, so I don't believe that the situation will necessarily improve much when the steering wheel nut is tightened. It is also difficult to see whether the lower end of the splines are engaged better.
Does anyone have experience with this boss?
Thanks.
BTW can't attach a photo as it tells me that the board attachment quota has been reached.
P.S: Just for info, as I found it difficult to find it when I looked, the thread size on the inner steering column is M18 x 1.5
