Thanks woz, Fingers crossed I get some good weather at the weekend so I can do some more.

Not much done this weekend due to weather (rain again) but managed to fabricate a small section for the kick panel, as it's non existent
so started with this:

bit of jiggery pokery ended up with this :lol:

hopefully to go in there

for those among us who have far superior fabricating skills than me, let me know if you think it's ok and worthy of welding to van. thanks any feedback welcomed :shock: :lol:

O/S Chassis leg rotten as a peach, finally made a start

accelerator linkage rod is it best to cut these out?

tried to drill out pin or whatever is holding it in place, got absolutely nowhere so think i'll cut out rod and replace it with some stainless steel like gagvanman

Well o/s Chassis leg removed to make way for new section.





Now making a start on non existent outrigger/jacking point.

Don't look too closely i got to clean up weld a bit more, had enough so will do it tomorrow now. Just nice to see some new metal and not rust and holes.

Well I've thought about selling, for the right money. Had all the front welded new wheel arches both sides, front valance inner and outer, cab floor repaired pictures to come later. Just started to repair cab doors (original ones are fubar) brought 2 off flea bay a couple of years ago lol, started to cut out rotten door bottoms and skins which I got from another 2 donor doors so hopefully make a couple of good doors.

Sorry if it's been done to death but I'm about to weld in a repair panel to the bottom of my cab doors which method do you recommend butt or lap joint weld? Thanks in advance.

how high do you recommend to go with repair section? lap or butt weld?

just made an extension piece for bottom of door repair from schofields. made from hammer, chisel and vice came out quite well i think.

A bit more work on the cab door nice to see clean metal going in

Not a massive amount of work ( limited time that I had) just got to made a small piece for corner

2 new bits of kit, welder I've had a while and now 3 in 1 sheet metal machine test piece in front.

New corner piece made and let in a bit more tidying up and I can fit lower door skin, and one good door.

So my question was more weld or filler to the pin holes? I've posted in tech forum would appreciate some help from more experienced out there, thanks in advance.

In my opinion - weld.
Will last better and so long as you take your time should be easy to blend in - be stronger and you know it has been done!!
