I must admit lookin back at the bus I sold, I don't think I've ever seen such a clean bus !
Owning such a clean bus makes u judge every other bus harshly !

The new westy is in good nic! , gotta find someone to clean the Cali dust n sand from underneath n seal it!

Anyone know what the best way around this is?
R we talking wire brush n elbow grease or is there a quicker way?

Nice looking Westy, nice and shiny! Is it staying high? (cos, stock is the new low you know) Maybe a littlew raise and off road tyres?? ;) A little bit of wild camping maybe ???

Have a mooch on my thread (towards the last few pages) I used various products for rustproofing, sealing and painting the underneath body colour, might give you some idea's, in the meanwhile looking forward to seeing more pictures.

Cheers,

Alistair

Ok aogrady I'll have a look at that thanks ;)

Couple more pics , here u can see front badge off whilst it has a couple of spray jobs done

Its a shame it doesn't have the original interior :(
Mind u I'd have to take part of it out as I need to put a full width bed in.

The interior which is in there is brand new n never been used , probably gonna sell it
If anyone's interested let me know
3/4 bluebird r n r bed with new cushions
Trim shack units
Cooker sink cooler
Prob buddy seats?

That lot prob cost more than 2k to buy new , shame it's not gonna work for our family !

Awesome build thread aogrady , hell u have put some work in to your bus!
Looks superb !

Cheers dude! Always plenty to do... ;)

Look forward to seeing your changes to the interior, yours is bound to sell quick, i'm sure there are people who have just imported a bus with no interior.....

What plans do you have for the interior? Fridge, solar, split charge?

I'm sure the interior will sell, it's lovely , just not what we need!
I'll put it up for sale next weekend on here and prob eBay.

I don't know if you've read my prev posts but we have an unexpected baby on the way !
what I won't in my bus and what I've gotta do to my bus to cater for our family is two different things.

We can't have loads of cupboards , we just need it simple.
I've been looking around , foz I think his name is? Has got it right

Something like this just maybe with a traditional westy sink cupboard at the sliding door?

Thanks trikky2
Hey I see u in south France
My last bay, a beautiful Neptune blue panel van was collected and went down south of France!
Just weren't big enough for us anymore
Was a lovely bus!

Thanks chap
I didn't have time to mess around, 3rd child due end April, if I didn't find a bus soon I would have to give up for a year or two till I had more spare time.
This bus looks clean , it is , but there's a few jobs to b done , mot, ignition barrel, interior change, steering box,
That's enough for me cos I'm gonna b sooo busy soon !
Just happy to find a clean rust free westy !

U any closer to finding what u won't trebor?

Not yet, getting fed up and getting a bit lazy. Used to check loads of sites but just look here and viz, samba now.

Yes, Foz's bus is awesome, I think for a young familly (congrats BTW!) a full width bed is ideal, you dont really need the wardrobe, mine has oil, portable stove, gas bottles, BBQ bits, windscreen thermal cover shopping bags etc, all junk that could find another home, but handy as the rear section has pots and pans and electrical spares, plugs, coil, timing gun, colourtune, leads, meter etc, easier to find in the bus than the garage, and you never know, might need some breakdown bits. I have a big halford pro toolkit, spanners, sockets i take too.

I would prefer a different setup, still with a fridge and hob, but maybe a bigger bed and cut down wardrobe, but i loath to remove my OG Westy furniture, I dont really like modding it too much, just enough for our needs, hence the new gas hob and compressor fridge.

Somelike like Foz's but westy type sink and fridge/hob? Are you gonna use a hammock?

I bought last season a blow up awning, Vango Airbeam, up in seconds, ideal to store baby bits when you arrive on site, you'll have enough to cart about. Our 1st came camping when she was 8 weeks old, she's nearly 4, and Billy is 18 months. :D

Cheers,

Alistair

I was gonna buy one of faux conternental bed kits, but the chap whom I'm buying the bus from had already purchased the kit from faux. It's still in the bag it was sent in lol!
My 5 year old and 1.5 year old can go up there ( if they behave ) or maybe stick the 1.5 year old in the hammock above the cab seats?
The baby will have to go in a crib on the floor I guess? - or maybe I'll stick the wife and baby out in the awning ahhhh peace n quiet lol!
If I had a westy with og interior I'd hate to take it out but any large amount of cupboards etc just won't work for us
Are the westy sink / cooler cupboards easy to get hold of?

Hi,

They do come for sale now and again, but if you are all going custom, make your sink unit, I can send pictures and measurements of mine if you want?

Alistair

Has it still got the hammock in the pop top, or the smaller one above the front seats? If so you could use those and keep the interior, my grand daughter loves it

We have got a hammock for above the seats and one of faux double bed kits for up top which is not made up yet
I'd love to see pics of your cupboards
