Seen on the samba, any use for anyone?
Hi!

Found whilst browsing, not too sure on the welding, looks like even more to snap off? Any good for anyone?

Narrowed Bay Window Drop Spindles Price: $350 exch
2 inch bay window drop spindles with .200" negative offset. These drop spindles do not widen your track. they decrease track width by more than 3/16" per side.
2 1/2 in drop not possible with this style spindle as the lower ball joint stud will hit the inside of the rim. spindles are sold exchange. $100 core charge. 68-70 spindles are $400 exchange and may require very minor brake backing plate modification.

Narrowed Beam pitman arm Old Speed Price: $50 exchange
Narrowed beams cause the angle of the driver side tie rod to change more than the passenger side. This causes the driver side wheel to not turn sharp enough. I'm certain that many of you with narrowed front ends have experienced that even though your car is easy to push straight but while turning it becomes difficult to turn. Additionally I'm certain that you are experiencing faster than normal tire wear. Old Speed recognized this problem years ago and has been modifying the pitman arm to restore the tie rod angle. This modification is done on an exchange basis or add $10 for the pitman arm core.

Hi!

interesting option though? I thought i would post as everyone seems to be on about dropped spindles lately, and nowt wrong with more disscussion to the fray!
As far as i can see, these ones suffer more than the usual welded spindles in that they have even more cutting and welding than the usual ones, so if you can get forged dropped spindles, why not forged ones with the right degree of caster. trail, width or whatever already pre made into them? Thus solving the usual problems of dropped spindles, and if not, why not?

i have these fitted on my 71 bay, i had Russell (who is a very well renouned and well known vw mechanic in california) install a set along with a 4" narrowed beam, and i cant fault it.

I am very happy with them, and Russ was great to deal with.
