new alternator

Hi All.

I need ti change my alternator. is it an easy job? just take out and copy in reverse to put the new one on ?

Or is it a full engine out job?

It can done with the engine in situ, but it's much easier to drop the engine and give it a once over while it's out.
You'll need a 36mm socket for the fan hub nut as well.

I am a bit useless at finding past threads but I will look. I did mine in situ got a good bit of advice from Stuf. It wasn’t overly hard but it was fiddly. Many brews were taken. If you can drop the engine which in reality is easier I would. I couldn’t so had to crack on with the engine in.

thanks for the advice guys . I dont have the equipment to drop the engine so will see how I go.

Wish I could drop the engine because I also have a new fuel sender to put in.

Follow that thread I put up it wasn’t hard to just fiddly in places. Plus let me assure you if I can do it you can. I am no mechanic
