Hi,
Im in a bit of situation at the moment and im really not sure what todo.

My daily diver is a 57 plate Mk5 Golf GTI, I got a loan for this and 12 months later im getting really annoyed with a huge chunk of money disappearing out of my account.

I can settle the loan early and want to clear it, however i have no cash todo that with, so im looking to sell the golf.

I reckon i would get aroun 9k for the golf.

Im now looking at spending about 3-4k on a new car. It needs to be Diesel or return a good econmy, and be 4 door.
I am leaning towards a 130bhp Bora, any thoughts?

Of course im keeping my bay

yes buy my golf, maybe a bit over budget, PM for more info pics etc. Got a feeling im going to be in trouble for posting this.......:)

haha, Im cant to that to myself.....sell one mk5 golf and buy another or lower spec, although how much you looking for?

I didnt really want to go over budget as the idea is to clear my loan!

I drive a 57 plate Golf TDI GT sport, not sure if you could pick one of those up. But for the power / Mpg its pretty sweet.

I'm in no rush, I have just been going through the process of getting it ready to sell. I guess I would be looking for £5,500 based in the information from Parkers, the price jumped a bit when I entered that it had dual climate as one of the options. It's FSH with the last completed a couple of months ago by a VW specialist, also had the cam belt replaced last year. Seem's to be a good one - some of these diesels use a bit of oil I understand, some don't (mine doesn't). Also returns 60+ MPG regularly, which is better that the same engined A3 I had before, its done 52K miles.

As I say PM if you want to know more and I'll email all the details and some pictures - I'm back from holiday 11th October so will be selling in ernest then ish.

The mk4 anniversary looks nice, although i think they only come in 3dr....hmmm, could be tempted to revert back to 3dr

We've got a mk4 golf estate tdi. Goes like shit of a shovel, regularly does 60+ mpg and cost just over £3k. Similiar to the Bora I guess but with more room in the boot.

(not for sale, but they are out there).

I love my VW's but the Bora never floated my boat. How about a mkIV Anniversary TDI? You should be able to get one for about £4K

J.
I was very close to buying a silver one of those at auction years ago, 150 PS nice 'kit' and interior, regret not having the funds at the time. Ended up with not as special 3door MK4 Gt TDI 150 ps, nice car though and better built than the MK5 IMHO. Mk5 handles better though.

I had a Mk4 Golf GT Tdi PD150....remapped to 180+bhp and about 325lbs/ft....was one of the best cars I've owned!
Regularly over 50mpg despite thrashing it daily and quick.
Turbo went at 200k miles then the cam followers at 209k so called it a day with that one.
Handled great with a full Eibach sport package and 312mm brakes up front
Still miss it to be fair! And it was better built than the Mk5 as got one of them now ;)
Gotta be some cheap ones out there now...

Had a 130tdi Bora for 8 years. Fab car, 52mpg and better handling than a standard golf. Needing only 2 rear springs, a cv gaiter, the fake leathery but around the gear stick and one bulb + regular maintenance it left me plenty of time for some other projects. Missus wanted to buy another.....

We have a bora tdi sport auto , had it around 3 years. Even with a auto box we get around 50mpg and its been uber reliable.
