Hi everyone, I've heard a rumour today that from 2025 when you reach 70 you will have to have tests done by a doctor to drive specifically a campervan and/or a van. Apparently this has come from this year's budget although I can't find anything online about this. Being as it doesn't specify vehicle weight or size I'm inclined to think it's either another daft government directive or fantasy. Anyone here heard similar.

Nothing's changed.
Once you reach 70 you have to reapply for your driving licence, and you require a doctor's letter then and every 3 years after.
Thanks Sparky just as I thought, fantasy. BTW, I haven't been on here for a long time and my username has changed all by itself. Was there a forum crash in the last year? Cheers Shaun.

Having just reached this magic age! I have just had to renew my driving licence, this was done online and I only had to answer a health Questionnaire. renewal is free. If you are lucky enough to have held a licence for a long time and have a C1 (medium-sized vehicles) or D1 (minibus) entitlement and want to keep it you have to renew by post and you will need a doctors certificate.
