New gearbox

Removing my gearbox tomorrow, CA 3 rib. It’s noisy in 4th gear and leaking oil from seals by CV joints. Should I have it rebuild or buy a reconditioned one? Is it worth update to a freeway flyer (1600 TP engine)? And where is the best place to get one from? Thanks.

I fitted a freeway flyer and it transformed the drive at motorway speeds, but that was on a 1955 engine - I’d imagine, but don’t know, that a 1600 would struggle a bit with the higher top gear?
