Hi, I've recently bought four new heater controls for my 1970 Bay... these are the two red 7 blue slider controls on the dash. They are more for look than actually working as th ehating appears to be non-existent. The current controls are broken and look hideous.

I've bought a Haynes manual and it suggests removing the stereo system to get to the heater controls. My thinking is to just remove the whole dashboard and then work from behind.

I am a serious novice and in the past have made some almightly cock-ups where enthusiasm is far to away from skill and knowledge.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks,

Kevan

the boots "simply pull off" my arse obviously the author didnt do the work then....

you dont need to go to these extremes, pull the pod forward (battery dissed) drop the radio if you must (it is fiddly)

review pic 11 by the guys thumb is a plastic captivator holding a plastic peg in place....you need to compress the pin end (its a splayed notched locking pin) and push through the captivator. be careful unless with the arms you got new pegs? pull the lever out with the spring plates.....

Piece of piss

chances are you'll mulla a peg....
