new tail gate seal

dear all

found out my rear tail gate seal is leaking like a sieve

i really need a new one quick for my august 70 bay, where would you recommend getting one from and also are the cheaper ones any good?

i would rather pay out to get a really good seal but at the same time i don't want to waste my money if there is no difference

Mine leaks to, even though its supposed t be new....fitted by the previous owner.

I have been told to make sure the door is adjusted properly, so it shuts tight against the seal. Mine leaks at the top.

I adjusted it...but it still leaks....let me know how you sort yours.

Get the best seal you can afford. Status seems to be the place for seals.

But some good news, I also fitted a nos hatch seal from 'Vdub shack as he has a few going. £40 posted and a perfect fit as you would expect. Very pliable rubberwith all the right forming. Can't recommend this seal enough. Be quick as he only has a few

just want to say that i bought a seal from status got it next day.

the seal is brilliant quailty and seems a really good fit the hose pipe will go on it tomorrow night

i can confirm no leaks in my van !!!!

this seal has done the job, sprayed it last night with the hose with the water being at a good pressure and not a thing


this was confirmed by my wife as last time i sprayed my seal to check the old one she got soaked!
