Faux....

I wish i had that much space to!!

I've got a flat with no driveway so have "borrowed" my parents driveway for a while!!!

Dad had a bit of a shock when he came home to see what id been up to!!!!! :D :p   :D

  My brother takes advantage of my mum and dads drive and barn....but they live 100 miles from me so too far to go for a resto. What makes it worse is I have my brothers van on my drive.... :p

dude, bit of advice, after you have cut the springs the creative instructions say that the springs have to be stacked correctly before welding, best way to do this is to tap the little discs out that cover the end of the springs on the torsion arms. You can then use the splines in the torsion arms as a jig so the stacking will be bob on. Oh and grease everything when you build it up, creative say its not needed on the bushes etc but it can't hurt.

Good luck

Cheers Ant,

I was wondering about the covers as id seen your were missing.

It makes perfect sence now....!

I had to sharpen the ends of the adjuster bolts for a better fit but it's all pretty simple stuff really!

Measure twice, cut once and all that

Was just a mission without having the right tools!!

After reading your thread i went and got a new tub of grease! I'm planning to use the whole thing!!

How is your ride quailty going? 8)

Didn't have much time today so just got the new narrowed beam ready for fitting.

Fitted the steering and damper, will shorten the springs and re-dimple tomorrow and get ready for fitting!

Handy hind: When removing your old springs zip tie them up so they stay stacked.......

Also.......after you have shortened them you are supposed to re-weld,i found that 2 zip ties done up vey tight holds everything in place and works a treat!!

Got the wheels polished up all ready!!

Cant fooking wait :D

She is slamed right down at the moment, i will need to fine tune the ride height when she is road legal!

The back is turned just 2 splines untill my ADJ spring plates turn up from CE!!

:D

Nope,

Just on a CE weedeater beam......

I will be getting dropped spindles soon!

Cool as! 8) I bet the ride will be a bit rough without dropped spindles.......but what the hell, too cool for school!

looks very, very nice :)

mine rides like crap that low on the weedeater........... please, please please be careful when working on your adjusters fella.I've gone through 3 inner boss's and had two suspension collapses, the second time mine collasped was after i fitted dropped spindles and the van fell on to the tyres, my confidence in that one key part is now shot and i've gone a different route (see my thread)

Hate to say........!

I imported this stunning camper for myself, the idea was to lower it and fit a 4" Narrowed Beam and Polished Radar wheels! This is as far as i have got and i have run out of time and energy to finish her off! I have spent over £1500 on parts, these included:

4" Narrowed beam, (fitted but not set up), £400

4 x Polished Radars wheels with new tyres £650

KYB Lowerd Dampers £80 (Not Fitted)

New Ball joints £60 (Fitted)

New shorted track rods (Fitted not set up)

Chrome badge etc etc........

+ Loads and loads of over bits and bobs!!

The work need to complete is to fit the shocks, set up the correct ride hight (the beam is fully adjustable) fit the cluch, acerlator, gear lingage, then mot etc etc

I have done most the work, just ran out of steam and now dark at night so to late to work + family at weekend's = NO TIME! This is a very quick and easy project for someone to finish and will end with an £11000 Camper at the end of it!!

The pictures show the camper when it was imported, during the work and how she is now.

Any questions are welcome and so is an inspection........

The work to finish her is within most people mechanical compatibiltys!

She would need to be tralierd away as has no MOT as yet and needs the lowering and beam set up and basily just put back together.

She is booked into a garge to have the work completed at the end of this month, it will cost £1000 for a garage to complete and carry out MOT. Then she can be for sale at £11000 or you buy for £7999 have 2 days work and you have a Bargain as the parts are there and she is stunning, rust free and when complete will be the mutts nutts!

We are http://www.Brightonbaysandsplits.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; so please have a look at our web site and see that we are trusted VW Camper imported's!!

If you have any question or just want some friendly advise please feel free to get in touch....

Happy Vee Dubbing!
