Howdy Y'all. My name is Ted. I reign from the midwest usa.
I have been into early VW's since I bought a '71super in say '91ish. Moved onto Split Busses soon there-after and stayed solid. Now that I am in my 30s I have gotten soft and stepped into the earlybay. I am now on my 3rd '68 and don't plan to go any newer...Except maybe a sage'78 camper as that is my vintage

Been lurking for a while so I thought that I would share.

1st '68 was a bay-curious flip. Bench-panel converted pop-top.

Then bought a '68 walk-thru Deruxe converted camper. I'm 3rd owner.

Now just brought homer a '68 double bubble.

Nice to chat with y'all. I do have a hand full of splits and bugs yet so I will drop by only so often.

SeeYa. Ted.

This is a duplicate post from my intro so I thought i would start my own thread with this intro and show y'all my updates from here. Please feel freee to ask questions. I prefer '68 and earlier so lets keep the topics in that realm. ;)

1st '68 was found like this.

Cleaned 'er up. Tuned up the engine, brakes, and installed a camper interior that I had laying around.

Enjoyed the ride but ended when I needed money for a new welder and parts for my earlier busses. :D

next guy bought it and flipped it for double my price...

SeeYa. Ted.

Anyone see it lately would love an update.

So my wife and I were looking for a walk-thru camper to replace my '66 that was stolen back in '02.
I came across this early '68 walk-thru Deluxe with a camper interior and the almost nos original center and rear seats that came with it.

The rack was the selling point. :)

Went through the brakes, engine, and installed some General Grabber AT2 tires.

So the next '68 I bought from an Older buddy who is starting to sell off his projects. He sold his 21 winder to my friend and hooked me up with the double.

As found.

I just bought a set of the same kind of tires for my Vanagon , don't they rub a bit on your bus ? did you do any modifications to clear those tires ?
The size of my tires is 27X8.50R14
Great bus you have there , I like the way the full size rack looks on it.

ib. the Grabbers rub just a hair on a hard turn in the drive, other than that no worries.

Thanks for the comments all. I will check back time to time.

SeeYa. Ted.

Hiya Ted,, Thanks for the view of the fleet  It looks pretty awesome , as does that jawbone poking out the ass end of your bus  . I`ve seen all sorts of things used for filler, but never a jawbone before.

Ozziedog............ I suppose it saved a bit of bondo though  ;)
