Well having successfully competed a long (for me) trip in the bay I thought I should write a bit of a report, Im so happy that my bus made it, with only minor problems. A week before the trip I thought it best to drive the bus daily, every thing went well, I did loads of day trips 10 miles + out shopping with the wife and kids, only to brake the clutch cable while out on my own 2 mins from the house! one new clutch cable later and i was back on the move. with no spedo i had to rely on my sat nav for my speed, crusing at 50mph gave me a nice constant temp of 120, im not sure if thats heigh or not, but it sat there nicely, so it cant be that bad! I did manage to get it up to 70mph, but that was on a big hill and me not realisising how fast we were going. about 20 mins away from our destinaltion, the generator light cam on, luckily this was just by a small petrol station, i pulled in to check every thing, fan belt was fine, so I took this as a sign that the van just needed a rest, 20 mins and two nappy changes later we were on the move. we finaly got to our destinatuion, suprisingly traveling at 50mph only added 30 mins to our normal travel time to the same place.
I still have some strange knocking coming from underneath that I cant trace, but other than that the van is running fine
