possible to close door without handle?

weird question?,..........let me explain.
I need to take the slider handle off to have it chromed.anyway of keeping the bus secure without a door hamdle fitted?

If you leave the entire latch mechanism in then you can trip the inside lock. To keep anyone from sticking a wire in to open the lock, stick a nail in from the outside and just bend it down on the inside.
