Proactive (Volkswares)- customer services v quality of beds?

So, my bed frame broke, it's a 3/4 rock n roll bed. It hasn't been slept on yet but has been sat on. The weld broke away on Sunday and I wasn't amused.

I spoke to them yesterday and they appeared horrified that acweld gave way so they are sending a complete new rear back rest by courier which is supposed to arrived tomorrow.

Let's hope it does and the bed can be repaired with little fuss.

I think it's important we talk about good and bad shops/service here so we can make informed choices.

If the new bit arrives on time and is easy to fit I'll be happy.

Update. New rear back rest part arrived today and should be fitted tomorrow. A slight bend in the bracket but i've been assured it's ok and safe to straighten and the promise of another backrest if this is a problem. A phone call from them at 8.30pm this evening, now that's good customer service.

Not brilliant welding TBH, doesnt look like the weld has even penetrated the bracket :|

Yes, on inspection there was very little welding going on. Mind, the old frame came out and the new one back in working better than before and it took under 20 minutes to replace. So, for quality, i can say that it goes together easily however the proof will be in the pudding when we use it. For customer service, they replaced the damaged part without question and called to make sure it was ok and offered to replace anymore parts if there's a problem so i can't complain.

It's been fine since, bed works brilliantly and the seat is fine too. I just take time pulling it out and putting it back now in case it was me that broke it.

I have one of these beds in my van,

the previous owners hadn't fitted quite correctly. so i need to make a couple of mods.
All of the welds seem ok, but not great....I snapped the bits that hold the base down when its a seat......

Never used another bed, so cant comment about others.
