There was a discussion and some pics of installs in an old thread: http://forum.earlybay.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=39109&p=327749&hilit=propex&sid=6f39fb1648455d066d7304691b5a94bc#p327749" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Makes a nice difference on chilly mornings and evenings :)

Ive always fancied a heater in the bus, but have never got round to it, this year may just be the one, but i like the look of the little ones you used to be able to get, was it the 1600? anyway, it may just be big coat again for me :mrgreen:

were going to lincoln vw show at the end of october "hermans halloween party" its called fancy dress is esential and my daughter is going with me as always shes 10 and after having her wake me up at 6am at back to basics saying she was cold i thought must get a propex :lol:

plus we intend to use the bus during the colder months eg august :lol:

As Sparkywig said you can get away with 2x 40mm holes for combustion inlet and outlet although the instructions call up a 50mm hole for clearance. You also get a paper template to help cleck for heater clearance.

In addition you need 2x 95mm holes for the hot air outlet and the fresh air inlet vents in the bed front so an investmant in a holesaw and correct size cutters is a must unless you can borrow one.

I have the 2000E gas and Electric heater from Magnum Motorhomes which is £550 special offer at the moment. Nice bit of kit.

Hope this isn't considered a hijack...but does anyone know a place that fits these professionally? I've had mind sitting in the box since the last group buy, snowballs chance in h*ll of getting it fitted myself and the interior guy wouldn't fit it for me, too scared of insurance cause he's not gas fitter certified or something... any ideas? :msn4:

If you use your bus all year round like me, then a Propex is ace. Especially if you've got a timer as well. ;)

Agree with sparkywig, if you use your bus all year round a good investment, but if not question whether the few £000 it will cost to buy, and the cost to install if you can't do it yourself is really worth it? I've probably used mine twice in the last 10 months, but on those occasions it has been great to feel toasty when its a bit nippy outside

Sometimes wearing a big coat is the best idea and spend the £'s on something else ... like cider or half a tank of fuel :lol:

Yes, if you've got the inlet and exhaust flues sheltered by the outriggers, if not it'll flare out and won't restart.
Also make sure that the exhaust flue is on the opposite side of the bus to where your awning fits, otherwise you'll fill it full of carbon monoxide.....

Would it possible to have some pics of your set up sparkywig as i am looking for mine and will need/want to use while on the move.

Have a look at my gallery thread for the full install, the link's in my signature.
Here's the inlet (nearest) and exhaust flues. The front of the bus is to the left.

right just spent a couple of hours wiring up the propex just got to fit the hot air and cold air vents in front of bed question is does it matter how close they are as i am limited for space due to having speakers fitted in

All depends if you want to draw the hot air back into the heat exchanger, I'd fit them as far apart as possible and the intake vent lower than the heater vent.

cheers dude
