I've asked this in another topic but thought i would raise a new one.

I was told by marcher (the PO) my bus had been lowered by 2 splines at the back. My kids are getting bigger and heavier and i want to use a bike rack on the back for 3 bikes, so combined weight of bikes and rack will be about 60kg, 3 boys god knows. When camping at the weekend there was an occasional thud when on rough roads, could be the shock mount which i will check but could be bottoming out on arch?

Question, for this set up am i best to go back up a spline or can i deal with this by changing shock absorbers. My knowledge of shocks is that they are to limit 'bounce' not necessarily stiffen the ride but what do i know. Standard shocks fitted by the looks of things at the mo. Would like to keep the stance but don't want to risk long term damage to the bus.

Advice appreciated

Thanks Al

2 splines is for show, carrying no loads.

If its lowered 2 splines and you want to use it for camping with kids and bikes you will have to raise it by a spline at least.

If you want to use it seriously for camping then stock is best suited.

2 splines is for show, and when camping, long term means dough....

I'm hearing you Trikky, and its what i thought. Maybe try one spline then when they boys get even bigger i go back to stock. Or, i might think it important enough to invest in adjustable spring plates then, but not now..

Thanks

Of course, any other contribution appreciated but as i said i think i knew what the answer would be.
