Are all small 5 brake components the same?

My bus is a 71 model, made October 71 and has 5x112 pcd.

No, there are differences form year to year - I found this out when I got the wrong size slave cylinders. Best to check your chassis number to identify the build year as this does not always correspond to the reg date on the V5.

"Made October 71" would make it a '72 model, by VW's reckoning. The only rear brake components that were unchanged 71-79 were the return springs.
