Rear bay window door trouble

This is my first camper which we are doing up, I know nothing about vw's, and I have came across our first mishap, I brought a rear door for our camper 2nd hand and was told its for a early bar, after spraying it up we tried to put it on but, damn it don't fit, the bolt hole are in a different place, before I go and chuck it across the drive can anyone just clarify that what it is for, is it useless, and is there a quick solution apart from getting another one and starting again, cheers I am now worried that the other doors don't fit lol

I guess now you have the old one off you could check holes etc to see if they are the same on both doors , It may be different if its a late one . . Difficult to tell difference between a late Split rear door and a Late Bay :?

You have probably got a '72 crossover door, the holes are nearer the top of the door so when you closed the door it was about an inch too low
They are a real oddity as they are a hybrid of early/"earlies" & late bay but only fit crossers
