hy guys at e/b ,,,,,the brake hub on my 70 westy seems solid, it wont move ,is there a special way to free it, the other side came off very well, dont want to knock seven bells out of it and cause damage, any suggestions thanks :(

I assume you are trying to pull the hub off the stub axle ?
If so I used a puller that I slightly modified to enable it to reach.

If we`re talking about the brakes dragging, have you slackened the shoes right off and iggled and wiggled inside to try and pull the shoes in a bit. Sometimes just tapping the drum will help them go back in, but I`m a bit wimpish with that so I use a hammer and block of wood. You have to get those shoes back in a bit especially if your drum has a bit of a lip on it. Be as carefull as you can because the backing plates are usually paper thin and hard to get as well. Once you have stopped it really dragging,, then the fun begins with getting the bas*"rd off. When you adjust the shoes to free them a bit, keep adjusting them till you got no adjustment left after you have movement.

Ozziedog,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Try not to use an airline to blow crap out as well

yeh cheers lads, the brake shoe adjusters have seized, like i say got one side off, and they wouldnt adjust (star shaped adjusters) solid ,so i got hot spanner out and freed them and the handbrake cable had siezed, but again got that off, just the hub now,on the drivers side :) see if i can borrow a puller thingy from work tomorra,, its been stood for 17 years in USA ,
