Hi Guys,
In the process of restoring our very Early Bay, and have a long list of things to fix..
Foremost, being a UK rhd original - the offside Rear Chassis rail has suffered accordingly
Thankfully nearside is not too bad, and I have removed the Suspension A arms and Spring plates, torsion bars etc to tackle this job..
As you can see in the pics, the torsion housing and chassis rail area is quite bad and some repair attempts have been done in the past by previous owners..
I believe the torsion tube is salvageable.. albeit it has a very small crack - with some careful welding..
I will be undertaking the mammoth task of taking the whole underside back to bare metal also - but, is it a case of cutting out the rot.. getting some 2mm or 3mm? sheet metal fabricated
or is it better getting a used rear chassis cut? [if anyone on here has this piece?]
thanks in advance
