rear hatch differences

Hi... What are the differences between an early and late bay rear hatch?

I need to get a replacement but they look near identical

the hinge mounting holes on the sides are in a slightly different place,sorry don't know any dimensions.

From memory I think the latch mechaism is different on a late as well so you need to make sure the lock mech etc is in exactly the same position,

So converted a late hatch to an early one sounds like it is is going to be too much hassle... Are the late split screen hatch the same as the early bay's?

yep it fits,but the lock/latch is a slightly different shape hole,if you can plate,weld and grind it back then you'll be OK.
