Ok so here are my rear heater pipes. I am thinking of removing the tube connectors and welding a solid cover plate instead. Reason for this is that we just had our first outing this year (fantastic weekend at three cliffs campsite in the Gower) and the pipes were open on the way back and the kids were nearly cooked alive.

I've made sure that all my exchangers pipe connecters etc are all working fine and i do get heat up front to the windscreen and floor and the front of the cargo bay (between the driver/passneger seats) when i switch the relevant levers.

we dont use the bus too much in the winter so should i block them off and have more heat going upfront? How have you guys done it?

I bought a couple of the vent mechanisms that fit onto these.

Someone one here might have some spare or, if not, they crop up on Ebay every couple of months or so.

That way you can open or close them as you see fit.

If you decide not to fit the original type vents then just block the tubes off with cut down aluminium cans and jubilee clips. That way, if you or a later owner ever decide to reinstate the heater it will be a simple job.

Now that is a great idea. I keep thinking about cleaning mine up and re-installing them, but now I can procrastinate longer and not toast. :D

Cheers,
Dave

You should join the procrastination society. They just sent a telegram to the queen congratulating her on the relief of Mafeking.

This might help. I used heater hose which is foldable and cable tied it to the piece that sticks out.

Then attached the other side to the two outlets you can see in the kick board below the bed between the speakers.
They came courtesy of propex heater install pack.

This is a better picture.

Good luck.
