One of the many things still needed for my Sheila is a set of rims for the rear Lights.

Are there different sizes for the years? As I have now bought 2 sets of chrome rims and both are to small and to narrow to fit the rear lens.

and it is the one thing that really sticks out cos my current ones are all rusty

cheers

my understanding is that the all red US spec lenses are slightly smaller and the chrome 'SWF' marked rings are made to fit these. That's my set up anyway.
I did run red&ambers for a while and my chrome rings were too small for these. Slightly larger ones do exist, but they are not marked 'SWF'

But of course that could all be wrong!!!

p balls is right. schofields sell the larger rims cheap but the chrome lasts about 2 days - u could always have them rechromed or go for the hella lenses with chrome paint under plastic from c+c.

All reds are mucho cool  stick with those.

If you're worried about 'illegal' red indicators, stick some orange bulbs in your reversing lights (i'm assuming yours is a US import so will have these?) and reroute the indicator wiring to those :D You've got a bit of wiring to do anyway, seperating the braking and indicator circuits so it's easy to to at the same time.

That's what i did, but i didn't want to lose my reversing light function, so i fitted a period Hella bumper mounted reversing light too....

I have US bus with all reds and swf rings. I had this when I first got it and then decided the reds look soooo much better. I just swap them at MOT time with the aftermarket pile of crap red/amber chrome ringed efforts I bought. after MOT swap em back :D

for the original all reds I think you will need to save up for some s/h swf rings - but do it, mine are mint nick after 37 years.

i have 2 sets of rings, both the thing type and 1 set has the letters swf stamped into them.

both are unused, I will buy another set of lenses and then swap the rings over.

thanks for the help guys

I have a US import & have swapped the rear lights to UK spec. I think I am going to weld up the reverse lights as I don't like them.

I bought some cheapo amber/red lenses & trimmed them down so I could use the original swf rims.

I rubbed over the lenses with some scotchbrite to take the gloss off them too.

Does anyone want some reverse lights?

I dunno what they are worth. I have kept every other part I have taken off incase someone wants to put them back on, but I dunno if anyone will want to cut a hole & refit them in a fresh painted van. (if/when I paint it).

I won't give them away, if I don't get a reasonable offer they can go in the box with the other junk*

What are they worth, they are in very good condition.

Junk*= all the crap the USA think they need but the Europeans don't.
