my vang0 rechargeable led lantern died, any recommendations for a new one?

must be rechargeable and ideally off 12v as we rarely hook up

Just bought a Coleman twist+ and very pleased with it. Recharges via micro USB. Got a price match from gooutdoors which gives an extra 10% off as well. Combined that with a voucher and it was a bargain.

I've seen these on offer recently at Maplin. http://www.maplin.co.uk/p/outdoors-led-lantern-a00uc" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Thinking about buying one myself!

thanks, both are what I was looking for, the maplin one seems a bargain so will have a look later today

bought the maplin one, will give some feedback once charged and used it

I use one of these, stick it on the floor and shine it against something or stick it up as it has magnetic feet.

well, the maplin lamp is impressive especially for the size - its about 20cm high and on high mode provides the same light as a 40w light bulb if not more. the two lower modes are actually much more pleasant and I like the ability to have different brightness. I doubt i'll ever need the usb charging port to charge a phone but probably handy if camping whilst hiking.

time will tell how well the battery lasts but i'm pretty happy with it for now
