Ok guys, having read lots on VZi about red9 coilovers can I get your opinions on them for a 1970/71 Bay?

Thanks

I fitted them to mine yesterday, cant see any problems, looks like a good bit of kit, and Red 9 Design themselves are very helpfull.

Ignore any romours, No one I know of has had any problems with them.

Has anyone got concerns about the weight of the van being loaded onto the top and bottom shock mounts?

they do a new wishbone system, so no more worries about that old chestnut ;)

That is without doubt the biggest concern for most, they do offer a bumstop for peace of mind in case of failiure, however I will say Red 9 is a pukka engineering firm and invest heavily in RnD hence the price of their gear they also trust their own work and ride with it......

atleast your asking the right Qs and getting an understanding for the pros and cons....

Looked at their website could only find wishbone system for a bug.

I must admit their website is out of date somewhat and the wishbone is brandnew to market, there are a couple of threads with pics on here in fact SlammedKustom visited them and had a test drive coming away with a smile and a few quid poorer  look for SKs thread in general

got the 2-4 kit on mine. rides real nice. it was on the bus when i bought it. have since had there 3" lowered spring plates on the back as well.got them at camperjam last year. very helpfull guys, and they know there onions. :D

I've had both the low and now ultra low coilovers on my bus for over 4 years now with no complaints,

simon's a good bloke very helpful

I'll be hopefully upgrading to the wishbone axle setup over the winter as it looks the bomb (plus means the missus can drive for a change lol)

I committed at the weekend, Bristol VF, to the 2-4 coilover kit. Too true about the wishbone setup. If only I had the spondoolies!
