Removal and refitting spring plate cover

Good morning guys.

A question - can I remove and then refit the spring plate cover on my bus whilst its on the ground (it's stock height so I've got plenty of room to work) or do I need to put extra tension on the spring plate for the outer bush to work properly when I put in back on?

I've replaced them like that before and not had a problem. I'm fairly sure it's only a cover and locating bush for the torsion bar.

Actually nothing to do with pre load but you will need to jack up and take the load off the wheel as the cover acts as the torsion beam end locating bush. So will move when removed if weight of bus is on the ground
