I have removed my rear hub from my '69 bay. I then unhooked the handbrake cable from the shoe lever, but I can't figure out how to remove the cable from the backing plate. There is no visible 'clip' that I can see. I have seen this post which shows TWO pictures:

Which side is this 'clip' supposed to be ok, the inside face or the outside face where it enters the backing plate?

Thanks

I have 'clips' on mine, it is a 71 tho. They go on the inside of the backing plate and are slid in to the spring around the cable as it comes thru the backing plate, basically a flat disc with a slot in it.
