i'm going to need to get a rock n roll bed, full width.

the options are to get an original or a new one. and original 3/4 one went for about £160 the other day on ebay. so, anyone have any suggestions/advice?

a few new ones i've seen advertised:

expensive @ http://www.bluebird-type2.co.uk/Split%20bay%20interior.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

cheap on ebay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/vw-full-width-rock-and-roll-bed-4-split-bay-camper-bus_W0QQitemZ110324595220QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item110324595220&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1301%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

and vw heritage have one in their catalogue @ about £250.

PM RustyLee on here, think he makes the metal ones, good price and i know a few people on here are using 1's he has supplied. Also he does both 3/4 and full width for a good price. As soon as i decide what way i'm going i going to get one off him

Was that a Westy bed on e-bay for £160? If so would have thought that a good price, the best option in my opinion. Initially I bought a 3/4 from Bluebird following several recomendations, but sent it back and got a refund. I know many people use them and are happy, but I thought it was absolute crap, especially for the price. Could write an epic over why I wasn't impressed, but suffice to say went for the Westfalia option, by far the best type that I have seen. Just my opinion though. :wink:

Pete is right, Westy ones are best. But if you can't get one I would recomend talking to Rusty Lee, I've had one of his and it was great, went in easily and he is a top bloke.

thanks. i guess keeping a look out on ebay for an original is the best bet then, especially as there is no immediate rush.

Are you definately wanting a full width? A 3/4 really has plenty of room for two, and mine may well be up for grabs in the spring. Got the whole interior, bar sink/cool box to move on if you're interested?

yep, a full width. with me, the other half and a feisty jack russell all vying for space it's a must i reckon :)

in the end i bought a secondhand full width that came from a '74 westfalia interior. it is in and i've tried it with some old foam lying on top. very comfy and works great. just need to get the cushions sorted properly.

i bought it from here in the end:
