Does it fit under a bed?

Not wanting to sound like an arse, but that depends on which bed! Have not tried, but think it would go under a westy unit. Would not leave much room for anything else and my thought was for it to just rest in the walkthrough passageway but that is not realistic due to the thickness (?) when the legs are folded. Ultimately would like to think I could find one to fit behind/below the passenger seat.
As it is, will just chuck this in the back when the rack is in use and take it out on arrival at whatever venue.

Nice bit of searching fella! Think the problem I see with 2 of them is the stored size, as with my 'solution'. The last one works in the situation shown, but not sure how it could be used on a bay with opening tailgate and engine lid? The stainless boat one looks good, but I'm sure the sections do not lock, think they rely on downwards pressure to stay open, meaning the top has to be fixed in place.
Must sound like a right know it all awkward prat, but just going on my first thoughts!

it was a late night qucik search - so I do hear ya on all the comments........!!

thought it might be prudent to those who are reading this and not wanting a fold down version necessarily

i've been having a similar problem accessing the roofrack, bought some bespoke ladders, but they rested on the centre bulge, and with deluxe trim that dont work

thought i had the solution when i found some on custom and commercial, but got an email from nathan (i think) from there saying he thought they rested on the bulge, and that when they got them in they weren't very good quality!!!!! hows about that for an honest approach? hats off to them

anyway, I'm still looking

stainless for me too please!

Roof rack access?

Pop the roof, unzip the large vant and load the rack standing on the rock n roll seat/bed! Simples.

Oh, you dont all have Westy Pop Tops? ... Sorry :(

There are several words used to describe people who come up with 'helpful' comments such as this!
Can't quite decide which is most appropriate so I'll say nothing!!!

I once saw a ladder attached to the back of a camper so as it did foul the rear hatch but the guy said it was a custom job.

I'm gonna have a chat with a mate to see if i can get one made up!

Any one interested saves carrying a platform with you!

Oh sorry should have responded the guy let me down big time, not just on this either!

Here's a couple of pics to keep the discussion going.

I'm not sure where the corner ladder came from, but I think the ladder on the green bus is probably from an 70's-80's American Conversion Van, just modified to work with the rack. It's made of Stainless Steel. There's one in my neighborhood, but it looks like it's clamped to the top of the tailgate and bolted through the sheet metal at the bottom.

Still you could modify one to work however you want. I can find these at the Pick N Pull junkyard pretty much anytime.
