rubber seals around engine tinware

hi all,
at the risk of sounding a bit thick, could anyone out there tell me the correct way these rubbers should lay when the engine on an early bayis fitted ?

what i'm actually asking is :- as the rubbers have two flaps, should one sit beneath the tinware and the other above ?

Yes mate one above tin one flap below creating the seal !

as you know the early engine bay is different from a crossover. which is what i'm currently using until the early is finished.
