Hi guys, something that friends of mine are doing this year, another one for the Northern calendar.

As an introduction we are a local VW Club known as 'South Lakes V Dubbers'.

In 2013 we lost a very dear friend and we feel we would like to help the services that helped her so much that we have decided to host a charity event known as 'Run From The Sun'. The event will comprise of a convoy of VW campers and cool rides of (approx, more is better ) to the Westmorland County Showground, then an evening of entertainment including a live band and a charity auction, followed the Total Retro event on Sunday at the same venue, to which you'll get a free ticket to.

Our chosen recipients of the money received are St. Johns Hospice and Sandgate Hydrotherapy Pool.

What we are after is you, your camper, rod, bug etc to join us in the convoy and the evening's entertainment.

If you can't make it, we are asking if you could either donate in some way, either a monetary amount to help with the running of the event, or if that's not for you, maybe something that we could auction off in the evening?

Righto, some more info for you all.

Tickets are to be £20 per adult, with under 12's free, and children above this @ £5. This includes your ticket to the Sunday show, which is a separate event, but will be awesome.

The plan is for the convoy to meet up at Charnock Richard services, then all go to the showground from there. Final details (and ticket availability) are still to be finalised, but I'll update this thread as I hear about it.

Official blurb, convoy details, ticket buying details all here now!

On Saturday May 10th we are organising a Charity Convoy from Lancaster Services M6 to Westmorland county show ground with camping and live music at the end! Oh and a Total Retro Car Show (your entry included with your RFTS ticket) on the Sunday!

Tickets are strictly on a limited first come first served basis.

There is a maximum of 100 vehicles and 250 people, so get your orders in early! They are priced at £20 per adult, £5 for 13-17 and under 13's are free. There is no charge for your vehicle.

The plan is to get all vehicles involved to meet up at 2pm on the Saturday, at Lancaster Services on the M6 Northbound LA2 9DU, Its the one with the tower! We will then set off at 3pm to do the final 20 mile leg to the Westmorland County Show ground LA7 7NH, just off J36.

If you're wanting to purchase tickets, please fire an email off to: [email protected], stating how many vehicles and people you are bringing and in return you will get a booking form to fill in and details of how to pay (within 48 hours please) to confirm your place.
But hurry, like all great offers "Once they're gone, they're gone!"
