Rust or Patina?

I'm looking at purchasing a van which has OG paint but with very small areas of rust here and there on the main body work, these are isolated and developing over wheel arches and the front grille. Ive tried to attach photo but it's saying the board quota he's been reached ???. These don't bother us as long as they don't spread and end up costing a fortune to sort...anyone got an advice as to whether small areas can be waxed/sealed with some clear polish or anything simple like that??

And the wheel arch. It looks very minimal to me and I'm happy with it but the mrs is worried it will spread and kill the bus!! It's top dollar for a tin top so just being cautious..

Looks clean enough to me - get some protective wax on it and I am sure it wont get any worse!
Mine has much more "patina" than that and hasnt got any worse in the last 3 years as I have been looking after the paint!

Dont be shy i have less rust on it than when it was imported i use canadian boat wax...............
